About This Journal
Al-Mustaqbal Journal of Sustainability in Engineering Sciences (AJSES) is an international, double-blind, refereed Open Access journal, published semi-annually by Al-Mustaqbal University. Launched in June 2023, it exclusively accepts research papers in English and offers free publication. Dedicated to sustainable development in science and engineering, AJSES serves as a rapid dissemination platform for groundbreaking research in sustainability, engineering, and technology. The average acceptance time for submitted research papers is an efficient 1 month.
As an innovative open-access, peer-reviewed journal, AJSES aims to be a leading resource for researchers and professionals at the intersection of sustainability, science, and engineering. It provides a space for the high-quality dissemination of research that contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future.
AJSES focuses on research and contributions from various scientific fields related to sustainability in engineering and technology. The inaugural issue is scheduled for publication in June 2023, reflecting a response to the global need for sustainable development, particularly in regions like Iraq. With a specialized focus on engineering aspects related to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, AJSES strives to be a pioneering publication in the region, addressing the urgent call for the application of sustainable development principles.
This journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Publishing schedule
The journal publishes two issues per year: Issue 1 from January to June and Issue 2 from July to December.

Open Access Policy
The journal is an open-access publication that allows immediate access to its published content. Articles published are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license permits non-commercial reuse (download, read, print, search, copy, distribute the link, etc.) of open-access articles, as long as the original author and source are properly attributed and the articles are not modified or altered

The journal welcomes research papers written in English.
Digital Archiving
The journal is preserved in CLOCKSS and Portico, the two leading preservation archives that guarantee persistent access for the very long term.
Articles also receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) from the CrossRef organization to ensure they can always be found.
Advertisements
All advertisements are subject to approval by the publisher, editors, or publishing partners, who retain the right to reject or cancel any advertisement at their discretion. Statements within advertisements should refrain from any direct or implied disparagement of another product, avoid misleading or exaggerated claims, and align with established facts. Importantly, advertisements must not be indecent, obscene, or defamatory.
The principle of upholding editorial independence from commercial influence is fundamental to the decision-making process. Editorial decisions remain uninfluenced by advertising considerations.
Advertisements must be distinctly recognizable as such and clearly differentiated from editorial content. AJSES will not publish advertisements presented in a format that might be mistaken for editorial content.
